A Perfect film, a perfect disc - 5 out of 5 (5/25/2002)
Think back to the Academy Awards of this year. It was when the Best Actor Award was being presented to Denzel Washington and the camera panned to a very ticked off Russell Crowe.
The cheering you heard was me and I still stand by the fact that I don't like him on a personal level.
But after finally seeing A BEAUTIFUL MIND, I have to wonder if the Award was given to the wrong man.

Great acting but slow movie - 3.25 out of 5 (8/24/2002)
Russell Crowe does a great job of acting but for the movie itself it was pretty dull. Needed a little more excitement or action to it. It's one of those that's ok to watch once but i wouldn't want to watch it again.

Russell Crowe was robbed at the Oscars !! - 3.75 out of 5 (7/14/2002)
It has happened twice now, once for this movie and once for the Insider - two excellent examples of how Russell gets into the character. Before watching this DVD, I knew it was going to be slow in parts, after all it is based on a true story.
I already knew the story of John Nash before this so the 'surprise' factor was already gone but I thought it was a beautifully shot movie, with excellent acting from the three principles.
